UniCam eMES 11 Now Available for Download

We are pleased to announce the availability of UniCam eMES Version 11. Designed specifically for Electronics Manufacturing, UniCam eMES provides closed-loop traceability for process and product control.

New Features and Enhancements in UniCam eMES 11

  • Routing – The introduction of sub-routes provides the ability to manage complex repair processes as well as alternate processes for all or only a percentage of units in a lot.
  • Quality Checklists – now supports assignment of check lists for lots at each route step in the route definition.
  • Factory Alerts – real-time factory alerts provides an efficient method for the administrator to immediately communicate critical information to all operators, or to target specific operators based on the product or lot they are working on, or on their location in the factory.
  • Cogiscan Integration – Seamless integration of Cogiscan® track, trace and control (TTC) solutions for the electronics manufacturing industry enables out-of-the-box shop floor connections for material and logistic data in electronic production.
  • Web Viewer – A new page is available in the MES portal that provides electronic document/ work instructions viewing, with a “smart search” feature for a specific product or for all documents in the system.
  • Windows 10 Support

Test Expert 10.1 Now Available for Download

We are pleased to announce the availability of Test Expert 10.1. Customers who are current on maintenance can now download from the Siemens PLM Download Server.

Key Updates

CAD Recognition

The new CAD Recognition function automatically detects the CAD file that is being read into Test Expert. CAD Recognition is an optional feature for users who want to eliminate the step of finding the CAD type in the list of the supported CAD systems or are unsure of the program that was used to create the file that they are importing.

Electrical Attributes Editor

The new Electrical Attributes Editor for Takaya flying probe provides a simple consolidated user interface where all required attributes needed for creating a successful test program are available.

The new user interface simplifies data processing by providing the user with clear and concise options to select. The user interface also provides visual feedback for components not meeting the basic electrical requirements for program generation.  The new Electrical Attributes Editor provides users the feedback they need before they run the output processor. Gerber Expert 9.6- Key Release Highlights

Polylines & Polygons

  • Add straight, arc, or tangential polylines
  • Add polygon voids to existing polygon by using Circle, Rectangle, Flash, or Draws
  • Add, copy, move, delete, fillet and chamfer polyline vertices. Also, Add Slot and Delete Segment.

New Part Viewing Controls

  • Added “Part Settings” page to the Configuration dialog, the settings control the drawing of part pins and part annotation including:

Design File Locking

  • This new feature creates a lock file when you open a .gedb file. Anyone else that tries to load this file while it is locked will get a Read Only version to prevent overwriting of a file that is in use.

DRC Rule Files

  • New DRC dialog option: save rule files in a dynamic form where abstracted layer types are output instead of absolute layer numbers.

KEY FEATURES

CAD Recognition

An optional feature, the new CAD recognition function automatically detects the CAD file being read into UniCam FX. Users no longer have to know the file source or search to find the exact CAD file type.

XML Reporting

The familiar Crystal Reports are being replaced with cascading style sheets (CSS) and XML data.  This new reporting feature allows users to easily customize reports using standard XML style sheet transformations (XSLT). Transform your XML documents into other XML documents, or other formats such as HTML for webpages, plain text or into XSL formatting objects, which may subsequently be converted to other formats, such as PDF, postscript  and PNG.

Usability Improvements
  • Quickly access current job directory from Quick Menu
  • Insert Classes are stored for easy access throughout UniCam FX
  • Wildcard search capability added to fiducials, form filtering, select parts dialogs
  • “Edit Part” dialog now accessible from the toolbar
  • License Usage Report allows users to see which licenses are in use (and by whom)

Simply look down the left-hand side of your screen, choose your product, and then dive in deeper to get what you need. Or, just type what you’re looking for in the search bar on the top of the screen and it will find it for you.
